SHOCK THERAPY PRODUCTIONS

High up in the air, in a pristine white shipping container seven metres from the ground, two figures work meticulously for 10 days to keep their living room clean. Pelted by a relentless stream of catapulted paint-filled balloons, their quest seems unachievable. 

Splattering the walls, the furniture and every pore of the two beleaguered cleaners, the unstoppable mess defies dogged painting and wiping. When will this existential onslaught end? How long can they keep cleaning? What, in the end, is the point? 

A hit at the 2019 Bleach Festival and Splendour in the Grass, this fun and free large-scale installation invites audience members to catapult the paint balloons from a giant slingshot, helping to spur the cleaners from a hopeless cause to one of invention. 

Created by its two paint-splattered protagonists, Hayden Jones and Sam Foster, the founders of multi-award-winning performance company, Shock Therapy Productions.

Face masks are mandatory at all Sydney Festival events for all patrons 13 years and older, in line with NSW Government regulations. A face mask is required at all times while inside foyers, theatres and outdoor venues, including during performances. Children 12 and under are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable.
