Riverside Theatres

Home to Sydney Festival events for many years, Riverside Theatres comprises three theatre spaces and is located on the banks of the river in Parramatta.

The Riverside is the largest space within the venue, and boasts a traditional proscenium arch, 761 seat theatre venue with stalls, circle and gallery levels.  The Lennox is a flexible, multi-use performance space with a standard configuration allowing for 213 seats. Raffertys Theatre is the smallest with 88 seats.

COVIDSAFE PROCEDURES

Face masks are mandatory at all Sydney Festival events for all patrons 13 years and older, in line with NSW Government regulations. A face mask is required at all times while inside foyers, theatres and outdoor venues, including during performances. Children 12 and under are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable.

Riverside Theatres is a registered COVID Safe venue. We have enhanced hygiene measures in place.

What we are doing:

  • Reduced audience capacity with socially distanced seating in the theatres following 4m2 guidelines
  • Additional cleaning before, during and after events including frequent sanitisation of high touch services.
  • Hand sanitiser, anti-bacterial wipes and hand washing facilities are provided throughout the building.
  • Signage throughout the building indicating capacity limits and social distances.
  • Front of house staff have completed COVID Safety training and a dedicated COVID Marshall is onsite for all performances.
  • Staff are wearing masks and masks are available for use.
  • Cashless payments and Perspex barrier screens in place at box office and bar.
  • Modified ticket policy to allow more exchange and refund policies if you are unwell.

What you can do:

  • Please do not attend if you feel unwell, are experiencing any symptoms of COVID and/or have been in contact with a confirmed case or await COVID test results.
  • Remain in your allocated seating.
  • Practice physical distancing whilst in the building.
  • Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands and using hand sanitiser regularly.
  • Ensure your contact information is up to date. If you made the booking, collect the contact information of your guests and have their permission to share it if required.
  • Download the COVIDSafe app and keep it running whilst in our venue.
  • Please listen to the requests of our staff, they are working to keep us all safe.

We continue to closely monitor and adhere to the regulations and advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and in accordance with NSW Government guidelines. Our COVID Safe plans will continue to evolve as the health advice changes.
