St Mary's Cathedral Crypt

The Crypt of St Marys Cathedral is considered by many as the jewel in the crown. It is a breathtaking cavern of striking architecture and ornate design. The Crypt, first and foremost is a sanctuary; It is the resting place of some of our most important Australian Catholic leaders, from pioneer cleric John Joseph Therry to six Sydney Archbishops. Though mainly known now as a stunning venue for art and liturgical exhibitions, music concerts, weddings and other special events, the venue remains a true artistic masterpiece.

COVIDSAFE PROCEDURES

Face masks are mandatory at all Sydney Festival events for all patrons 13 years and older, in line with NSW Government regulations. A face mask is required at all times while inside foyers, theatres and outdoor venues, including during performances. Children 12 and under are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable.

All patrons must register their details before entering the Crypt and social distancing must be observed at all times. Anybody showing visible symptoms of COVID-19 will not be granted access to the Crypt.

ACCESS

Access to the Crypt is via Cathedral Street. Patrons should follow the path from the top of Cathedral street to the Crypt Cloisters.

Wheelchair accessibility can be arranged, however, we do not have any wheelchair friendly toilet facilities. Should any patrons require wheelchair access, we request that this be noted during the booking stage.
