Due to current NSW border restrictions with Victoria, Allara at The Old 505 Theatre on Saturday 16 January has been cancelled.
Yorta Yorta woman Allara’s spoken-word storytelling, with a hint of humour, flows over double bass-driven grooves.
Inspired by ancient oral traditions, Allara weaves truth-telling webs of words over her double bass, loop-machine and sound samples from the natural world.
Kicking off her musical career in 2016 by accompanying Archie Roach onstage at the Sydney Opera House, Allara spent 2019 travelling across Australia and collaborating with numerous First Nations artists as the recipient of the International Women's Day First Peoples Emerging Artist Fellowship.
A highly acclaimed artist on a fast, upward trajectory, don’t sleep on her smooth musical stories of cultural, spiritual and environmental empowerment.
