Annie Hamilton’s dreamy, expansive shoegazing indie-pop conjures vibes of Angel Olsen via Spiritualized and the frontwomen of ‘90s alt-rock, with lush, spacey and psychedelic soundscapes delivering the backdrop for her intimate vocals and lyrical vulnerability.  

Formerly the lead guitarist of indie folk darlings Little May, and currently guitarist for Jack River’s band, Hamilton’s solo project is an FBi and Triple J favourite, oscillating between hushed contemplation and explosive, cinematic soundscapes. 

Hamilton’s 2020 debut solo EP was mostly written during a residency in the isolation of northern Iceland, and the landscape has imprinted itself deeply on the album, from the introspective lyrics to the ethereal, sprawling and intricate music, hinting at the otherworldly wall-of-sound grandeur of Sigur Rós or Múm.  

Accompanied by Sydney's Jenny McCullagh on violin, this intimate performance is not one to be missed.
