Addiction, corruption, environmental destruction. At best it seems our species has an irresistible need to self-harm. At worst, we seem bent on wiping ourselves out. Provocateur Mitch Jones (aka Captain Ruin) imagines our dystopian future in AutoCannibal, a visceral blend of clowning, performance art and physical theatre that takes us into a world in which only one human survives. There are no natural resources left. There’s no food, no water, no other living creatures.
What else can he do but eat himself?
Thrilling, confronting and darkly funny, AutoCannibal marks a powerful evolution in Jones’s creative practice, one based on years of experience performing in fetish clubs, sideshows and circus big tops.
AutoCannibal may be hard to watch, but you won’t want to look away.
