Carriageworks is the largest multi-arts centre in Australia. We commission Australian and International artists to make monumental new work that intersects with contemporary ideas. If you feel unwell
Please do not visit if have experienced cold or flu like symptoms in the past 14-days, are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, or have returned from overseas or a hotspot area. Stay home and take care.
Masks are mandatory
All visitors (13 years and older) are required to wear a mask within Carriageworks. Please bring your own mask. By entering Carriageworks you agree to wear a mask in the public space, Bay 21 Exhibition and in the theatre spaces. Unless you have a legitimate medical reason, non-compliance will result in denied entry or on the spot fines by authorities. Thank you for keeping our community safe.
Register at entry
All visitors are required by law to provide contact information for contact tracing. Carriageworks have QR codes at entry so you can register with your phone. Please speak to a staff member if you need assistance.
Good hand hygiene
Please use hand sanitiser provided at entry and throughout the site.
Physical distancing
Please practise physical distancing at all times. Avoid congregating in public areas, queue wherever indicated and always follow instructions from staff.
Attending a performance
On arrival, download your eTicket and have it ready on your mobile phone for scanning. If you do not have access to email, the Carriageworks box office team will assist you, but please keep interactions to a minimum. The box office will open 30-minutes before each event.
Carriageworks has been granted an exemption by NSW Health to increase audiences at Carriageworks up to 75% of capacity. Patrons will not be socially distanced from other audience members within the theatre, Carriageworks will continue to seat you with your booking group. Please note that this capacity condition may change in the future.
Cloak room closed
Large bags and equipment will not be permitted in theatres. You may be denied entry to an event if you are carrying a bag or item larger than A4.
Food and drink
Under NSW Government regulations you cannot stand while consuming alcohol. If the cafe is open during your visit, please take a seat in the public space after purchasing a drink or snack. Please note Carriageworks are prohibited from providing water stations or disposable cups.
Cashless payments only
Please bring a credit or debit card for any onsite purchases, as Carriageworks accept cashless payments only.
Travelling to Carriageworks
Carriageworks encourage travelling outside of peak hours.

Enhanced daily cleaning
Carriageworks have implemented enhanced cleaning procedures across the precinct. This includes regular cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout the day. Please be mindful of high traffic areas and keep touching to a minimum.
ENTRY AND PARKING
Carriageworks is wheelchair accessible. The ramp leading to the main entrance is accessed on street level via Wilson St. The closest train station with no steps or wheelchair access is Newtown Station, a 20 minute stroll to Carriageworks. Taxis can enter at 229 Wilson St (opposite Queen St) for level access entry.
INSIDE THE VENUE
For patrons with mobility restrictions or wheelchairs, level access and accessible seating is available in all theatres. There are wheelchair accessible toilets on site.
TRAIN
Carriageworks is a short walk from Redfern (approx 5 minute walk), Macdonaldtown (approx 10 minute walk) or Newtown (approx 15 minute walk) train stations. Carriageworks recommends using public transport.
BUS
The nearest bus stop is on the corner of Codrington St and City Rd, which is a five minute walk from Carriageworks. Bus routes are 422, 423, 426, 428, 370, 352.
BIKE
There are bike lanes on surrounding streets and free bike racks on site.
TAXI / DROP OFF
Vehicle entry is at 229 Wilson St (opposite Queen St).
PARKING
Carriageworks is located near to Sydney University, the Seymour Centre, and Australian Technology Park. Casual parking is available at these sites for a fee.
