Two celebrated young musicians present a program of French favourites from Debussy to Edith Piaf. For this Sydney Festival appearance, the two musicians will also be performing César Franck’s 1886 violin sonata, considered one of the finest sonatas to be written for violin and piano.
Violinist Emily Sun commands the respect of audiences for her mastery of new and classic repertoire. Based in London and praised by The Australian for her “perfect balance of expressivity and formidable strength”, she has performed with several major orchestras in some of the world’s top concert halls.
Pianist Andrea Lam, based in New York, has performed with some of the world’s top conductors since her orchestral debut at the age of 13 with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Described as a “real talent” by The Wall Street Journal, she is a frequent guest at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Centre, the Sydney Opera House and other leading concert venues.
