Vaucluse House is an all-weather venue and Sydney Festival is committed to going ahead with performances come rain or shine. Please come prepared.
Daniel Rojas brings the vibrant musical heritage of Latin America to Sydney’s Vaucluse House.
Celebrated as a pianist, composer and improviser, the Chilean-born musician is known for infusing tango, mambo, salsa and folk music with contemporary classical sensibilities.
Performing at the Sydney Festival with Sydney’s charismatic Ensemble Apex, Rojas will rework for local audiences some of Latin America’s best-loved tunes, including Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango and Mambo Influenciado by Chucho Valdes.
He will draw on indigenous, folk and popular traditions alongside his own compositions and spontaneous improvisations to create an enchanting evening full of passion, high energy and warmth.
Described as a “master of his instrument”, Rojas is a multi-talented performer and educator who has played with classical and world music ensembles in Australia, Asia and South America.
