Sydney Writers' Festival: Something to Talk About

In the height of summer and with only a few more weeks of precious school holiday beach time ahead, and the Christmas bookshop voucher burning a hole in your pocket, how best to turn your reading energies to get the year off on the right note? Look no further: under the watchful eye of Virginia Gay this is the only book club you'll need.

We've assembled some of the country's best readers, to put together an essential book list for the start of 2021. Jennifer Byrne, Michael Mohammed Ahmad and Sydney Writers’ Festival Artistic Director Michael Williams (via digital stream) will choose one beloved classic, one obscure international gem, and one Australian release from the past 12 months in danger of being overlooked in the noise of global pandemic. And wherever the conversation leads, their picks will furnish you with the must-reads to complete your summer in style and entertainment

Please note that Benjamin Law will no longer be participating in this event.
