The “Golden Age” of Hollywood gets a queered, feminist revival with an all-star cast of Australia’s top burlesque and circus performers, including Zelia Rose (Miss Burlesque Australia 2014), Dale Woodbridge-Brown (Briefs), Diesel Darling (Miss Burlesque NSW 2020), Porcelain Alice (Miss Burlesque NSW 2019) and special guests.  

Creative Sydney powerhouse Nicol and Ford, team up with full-time producer and showgirl Porcelain Alice to celebrate the work of Australian Orry Kelly, the multi Academy Award-winning costume designer. Investigating 1930s and ‘40s Hollywood and forgotten stories of raw sexuality and queer romance.

Until 2014, Kelly was Australia’s most prolific Oscar-winner, creating gowns and garments for classic films including An American in Paris, Les Girls, Some Like It Hot and Casablanca. In Undressing Hollywood, Kelly’s iconic vintage costuming is brought to the stage by Nicol and Ford, known for their classically “feminine” silhouettes designed for all gender identities.

The 7pm dinner and show package includes 2 course, entrée and main. Dinner orders can be made in-venue on the evening of the event, with dinner starting at 6pm. Face masks are mandatory at all Sydney Festival events for all patrons 13 years and older, in line with NSW Government regulations. A face mask is required at all times while inside foyers, theatres and outdoor venues, including during performances. Children 12 and under are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable. You may remove your mask during meals.
