“AN APPEALING ENSEMBLE PIECE OVERALL, AS WELL AS A GREAT VEHICLE FOR MIKKELSEN'S VULPINE BEAUTY AND NIMBLE DANCE MOVES.”
– STEPHEN DALTON, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL: SUMMER SEASON

A group of friends embark on an experiment of being mildly intoxicated throughout the workday to heighten productivity in this hilarious and moving film starring Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal, The Hunt).

Martin (Mikkelsen) and his three friends are disillusioned schoolteachers who are largely unenthusiastic about both their professional and personal lives. When they come across a theory that constant modest inebriation could lead to an open mind, diminished anxiety and increased creativity, they decide to give it a shot.

Flasks at the ready, the friends go about their school days, slightly loaded, and find the initial results highly encouraging. They lead their classes with new vigour and the students are far more engaged. But when they decide to expand their experiment, things get a bit more complicated. Director Thomas Vinterberg (The Hunt; The Commune, SFF 2016; Festen; Kursk, SFF 2019) and Mikkelsen are both on top form in this rousing and provocative film.
